The custom of sending greeting cards can be traced back to the ancient Chinese who exchanged goodwill messages to celebrate the New Year, and to the early Egyptians, who conveyed their greetings on papyrus scrolls. By the early 15th century, handmade paper greeting cards were being exchanged in Europe.

Cards evaluation project
Out of all the research, the part I found most useful was seeing the ideas in the card shop and the different card themes and how they were laid out to appeal to people. I added a bold text effect, as most cards that stood out had bold text and a layer of background to create more depth in the picture!
Looking at the final piece, I feel I like the final outcome came out good but could have improved with a better background and maybe improved more with the lightning and would have been way better if I could get a character holding up a birthday cake matching all ages yet i had no idea on how to accomplish this!
The feedback I received about the final piece was good and yet they all had the same repetitive answers stating that the card needed more detail on the back page yet was a minor feedback
The most important piece of feedback was that the card was for all ages and all ages and wasn't specifically made for a certain age group or gender which I believe worked well as I aimed to make it for everybody and all genders!
The part I enjoyed least about the project was designing the background and the inside because I didn't have many ideas to design the background and the inside!
Looking over this whole project, the most important skill I've learned is adding the designs specifically the different typeface and the lower transparent texts that are in the background!
Looking forward, the one skill I've enjoyed using that I will carry into my future work is creating different shapes and effects and making different pieces and fonts to create an appealing look overall!
